A way to get MKVToolNix running on the latest Slackware is to download the build script available on Slackbuilds.org and running it. It will do everything for you. This script was provided by Andrew Strong.
If you want to verify the integrity of the downloads please refer to these checksums for v73.0.0. Please note that both the SHA-1 and the SHA-512 checksums have been cut off for improved display. However, they link to files which contain them in full.

Since May 1st 2003, the Matroska libraries themselves and my Matroska tools are officially available. I urge you to download the software, use it and report any errors you encounter to me. I'm always grateful for good bug reports because I make mistakes and you guys normally find them. Your feedback is important to me :)
MKVToolNix is a collection of tools for the Matroska media container format by Moritz Bunkus including mkvmerge. The free and open source Matroska libraries and tools are available for various platforms including Linux and BSD distributions, macOS and Microsoft Windows. The tools can be also downloaded from video software distributors[4][5][6][7] and FOSS repositories.[8]
You can download the source code or one of the binaries. The Windows and macOS binaries as well as the Linux AppImage are available already. The other Linux binaries are stil being built and will be available over the course of the next couple of hours.
Bazarr is a companion application to Sonarr and Radarr. It manages and downloads subtitles based on your requirements. You define your preferences by TV show or movies and Bazarr takes care of everything for you.
CouchPotato is an automatic NZB and torrent downloader for movies. You can keep a 'want to watch'-list and it will search for NZBs/torrents of these items every X hours. Once a correct release is found, matching the correct quality, it will send it to SABnzbd/NZBGet or download the .nzb or .torrent to a specified directory. The downloaded movie can then be automatically moved and renamed to your liking as well as indexed by your DiskStation.
Headphones is an automatic NZB and torrent downloader for music. Mark albums as wanted and have them downloaded as soon as they are available. Different quality settings are possible, including lossless. With Headphones you can also manage your music library automatically: move, tag, rename and index for your DiskStation.
Lidarr is a music collection manager for Usenet and BitTorrent users. It can monitor multiple RSS feeds for new tracks from your favorite artists and will grab, sort and rename them. It can also be configured to automatically upgrade the quality of files already downloaded when a better quality format becomes available.
Sonarr is a PVR for newsgroup and torrent users. It can monitor multiple RSS feeds for new episodes of your favourite shows and will grab, sorts and rename them. It can also be configured to automatically upgrade the quality of files already downloaded if a better quality format becomes available.
SABnzbd makes Usenet as simple and streamlined as possible by automating everything we can. All you have to do is add an .nzb. SABnzbd takes over from there, where it will be automatically downloaded, verified, repaired, extracted and filed away with zero human interaction.
Subliminal allows you automatically download best-matching subtitles for your movies and tv shows on your DiskStation. This package is named after Subliminal, the Python library used to search and download subtitles.
Besides ffmpeg and .mp4 video container (which is patent encumbered), you could also use the mkvmerge(see MKVToolNix for GUI usage) and .mkv video containerto mux encoded stream into video file that is supported by all major video players(eg. VLC)
Please run the install scriptto download all required dependencies. Please note that this script must be ran from git context, so you have to download the depthai-python repository first and then run the script
Play a local file, but assume it's being appended to. This is useful for example for files that are currently being downloaded to disk. This will block playback, and stop playback only if no new data was appended after a timeout of about 2 seconds.
Some files, especially files muxed with newer mkvmerge versions, have information embedded that can be used to determine what subtitle packets overlap with a seek target. In these cases, mpv will reduce the amount of data read to a minimum. (Although it will still read all data between the cluster that contains the first wanted subtitle packet, and the seek target.) If the index choice (which is the default) is specified, then prerolling will be done only if this information is actually available. If this method is used, the maximum amount of data to skip can be additionally controlled by --demuxer-mkv-subtitle-preroll-secs-index (it still uses the value of the option without -index if that is higher). 2ff7e9595c
